Wooler Neighbourhood Plan

To seek approval to formally ‘make’ the Wooler Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan passed independent examination in May 2020. Covid regulations delayed the holding of referendums until after May 2021. A local referendum held in the Parish of Wooler on 10 June 2021 returned a majority vote in favour of the County Council using the Plan to make decisions on planning applications. The Council is now obliged by statute to make the Neighbourhood Plan unless it considers that doing so would breach European Union obligations. Making the Plan has been delayed due to the need to take external legal advice on a matter raised by the Northumberland National Park Authority
