ELECTION OF CHAIR FOR THE MEETING Minutes: Councillor Cessfordproposed that Councillor Hutchinson be elected as Chair of the meeting, this was seconded by Councillor Crosby.
RESOLVED that Councillor Ian Hutchinson be elected as Chair for the duration of the meeting.

The applicant has applied for the licensable activities for the supply of alcohol on and off the premises; and regulated entertainment and late night refreshment from indoors.
One representation has been received from an interested party on the grounds of public nuisance. Additional documents:

The Chair outlined the rules of the hearing and procedure to be followed at the meeting.
Heather Gebbie, Senior Licensing Officer advised the reason for the hearing was to determine an application for a Premises Licence in respect of St Mary’s Inn, St Mary Lane, St Mary Park, NE61 1BL.
Within the application, the applicant had applied for the licensable activities for the supply of alcohol on and off the premises and regulated entertainment and late-night refreshment from indoors.
One representation had been received from an interested party on the ground of public nuisance.
Verbal representations were heard from Sarah Smith, the applicants’ legal representative and Paul Sedgewick, interested party. A written representation had been received from the Environmental Health Department advising of two agreed conditions with the applicant.
The Subcommittee considered all written and verbal representations and the Licensing Act National Guidance and the Council’s own Licensing Policy.
Following the hearing, members adjourned to a private session to determination the application.
The Subcommittee determined to GRANT the premises licence for the provision of regulated entertainment indoors (films, live music, recorded music, performance of dance, anything of a similar description).
Monday – Thursday, Sunday 08:00 – 23:00. Friday – Saturday 08:00 to 00:00.
Late night refreshment indoors Monday – Thursday, Sunday 23:00 to 00:30 Friday – Saturday 09:00 to 00:00
Supply of alcohol on and off premises Monday – Thursday, Sunday 09:00 to 23:00 Friday – Saturday 09:00 to 00:00
All licensed activities may be extended for an additional hour on Maundy Thursday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and the Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday night of a Bank Holiday weekend.
All licensed activities may be extended from finish time on New Year’s Eve to start on time on New Year’s Day.
All licensed activities may be provided to residents of the hotel by their bona fide guests entertained by the resident 24 hours a day.
